Believe

What I believe:

I believe in Jehovah God who created the whirling galaxies, the birds soaring in the sky overhead, the endless crashing waves and all that dances within them. I believe in Father of all who knits together life, made in His very own image, in the secret quiet of our beings.

I believe in Jesus Christ, the One with no earthly Father, with the dust of this earth between His toes, and with our names etched onto the palm of His hands, right beneath the nail scars…Who now sits at the Father’s right hand making endless intercession on our behalf. I believe in the stone rolled away, in the Body being raised, in the first fruits of the dead…and us all following soon, very soon.

I believe in the Cross as our only Hope, our only Claim, and our only Foundation. I believe that in the pounding surf of life we have only one thing to cling to: the feet of our Lord, hanging on that tree, His lifeblood flowing down, washing us whiter than snow.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, moving, whispering, indwelling our very skin. I believe in living by the Spirit, walking in the Spirit, and producing fruit in the Spirit…in the Spirit who helps us in our weakness with groanings that can’t be expressed in words.

I believe in the infallibility of the Bible, God’s Word - a sure Word, a pure Word, the only secure Word. I believe the words on those pages are breathed from the very throne room of heaven, are the love letter penned from the heart of the Lover of our souls; a beacon of light for stumbling feet to find sure footing on a dark path.

I believe there is more than believing. There is living what I believe.

Encouraging others

I recently received a message from a friend. She spoke of her trying to find her joy. It got me thinking back when I had these same feelings. I wanted her to know that she is not alone in her feelings. Life can be extremely hard sometimes. I felt like I had a dark cloud over me everywhere I went for so long. I was never depressed, I just felt like I wasn't experiencing life to its fullest. The way we are meant to cherish every moment. That is it in a nutshell. I was not cherishing my blessings because I really wasn't seeing that I had blessings. This was all even before I was a mother.

It has been nearly ten years since I felt that way because I found what I had been searching for all along. I was searching for the meaning and purpose to my life. I found peace, love, faith, and acceptence in Jesus. He opened my eyes to everything that is precious in life and in faith I have learned to cherish each and every small detail in my life. Even the hard times, have meaning and purpose. They are learning opportunities for me to grow. As if my Heavenly Father is saying "no, no my child this is my way. Do it like this."

It is so important to be encouraging to each other. As mothers, sisters, and friends we have to say you are not alone. The Lord is waiting for you to look to Him, to talk to Him , seek knowledge in His Word. If you truely whole heartedly seek Him every minute of everyday, then you will have the gift of peace over your life and that will allow you the joy you seek.

Thought for today

[Jesus said] "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matt. 21-22

Don't reduce this grand statement to the category of new cars and paychecks. Don't limit the promise of this passage to the selfish pool of perks and favors. The fruit God assures is far greater than earthly wealth. His dreams are much greater than promotions and proposals. God wants you to fly.

The newest member of our family

For about seven years now, I have wanted and waited for it in my life. Everytime that German inventor's commercial comes on I am glued to the tube. I am not the materialistic type, in fact I am very frugal and a "let's make do" type. But not today! After years of cheap imitations with lousy performance...Ladies meet the Dyson Ball

He has actually been with us for a few days and it is worth every hard earned penny. This vacume is awesome. The suction power is amazing compared to the Bissel i've been working with. C-ya Mr. Bissel! I'm in love!!
I commented when I put it together, that it reminds me of a transformer. This weekend we watched the new Transformer movie and in one of the first scenes there it was. The same Dyson ball became a transformer. I wanted so shout "that's my vacume, isn't it so cool." My little boy thinks so.

Afternoon learning to skip

When I was a little girl, my sister and I would spend summer days skipping down our dirt road, or hula hooping for hours. Literally sometimes we would have contest to see who could outlast the other. We could go for two or three hours and never drop the hula hoop. Those were such wonderful summer afternoons spent playing and drinking koolaid.
Today my husband and I spent the afternoon teaching our children how to skip. "This is fun mom" my son repeated time and time again. It touched my heart and reminded me how much they need us to play and have fun with them. To really know thier hearts and show them how to do the things we sometimes forget about, like learning to skip.
Yes, that is my 6'4 husband doing a cartwheel. Ain't he the best? We think so.

Foodlion weekly deals

This was foodlion which in my opinion are never as good as Publix but a few really good store coupon items. Total out of pocket $27.02 with $20.68 in savings. It should have been $2.00 more in savings but the cashier gave me a little bit of attitude over a couple coupons but ultimately came to understand the difference between a store coupon and a manf. coupon. He took the coupon in question but somehow forgot my $2.00 produce coupon. I should have gone back but foodlion doesn't have very good customer service and was not up to it today. Publix is by far the best when it comes to customer service.

Did score some realy good deals on sparkle papertowels $3.00 on 8 packs, not bad. Today was a good stock pile day for paper goods. Then I used those goody $1.00 off store brand items. I am surely liking those.Few other good deals like $1.50 AH detergent, 1.69lb. ground beef, .79 foodlion cheese, and .50 softsoaps.

This week's deals!

Today was my weekly shopping trip and I think it was pretty good. First up is Publix at $47.53 and $85.76 in savings. There were several freebies today and many really good deals. I got four boxes of Kellogs for $1.12/4, 4xstarkist sensations free, Hormel roast entree for $2.00, and good competitor & manf. coupon matchups on the Bounty & Charmin.
Hubby is gonna be happy with the strawberry mini wheats his favorite cereal. All in all, this was a pretty good run.

I'm Back!

I'm going to try to be a little more frequent with my post. What five months to long in between?

Tommorrow is my shopping day we shall see how good the deals are at club Pub. Having a nice summer with my family. We took our yearly vacation to Sebastian, that was nice. But, now we are back to our routine. Back to school, hubby back at work, and i'm back to tracking down those deals.

I am working a nice stock pile in the pantry. Planning to update more on that and anything else remotely interesting going on around here.
